Like so many sciaticans before you, now you know the real secret to sciatica. What is it?

Treatment for Sciatica Pain Always means your pain will come back. - Drugs, ice packs, heating pads, exercises. They will only give you temporary relief from sciatica.

But relief is Not a cure. And until you learn how to cure sciatica, your pain will come back.

It stinks, but it is true. You can find natural sciatica relief and avoid sciatic nerve surgery. But you have to stick to it each and every day. Sciatica does not take a break for holidays, sick days, or vacations. It is completely up to you to keep on top of it.

And this isn't like a gym membership. If you slack off, your pain will come back. And then you will lose all of the progress you have made.

That is a lot of pressure.

Curing Sciatica is Easy, if You Know How to Do It

Chinese medicine has a lot to offer when it comes to sciatica.

If you really stop and think about it, it makes sense that they would be the ones to crack the sciatica code. After all, chinese medicine is based on the mind, body, and spirit working as one.

They have learned how to be sciatica free in 7 days. 8 painless minutes a day for 7 days is all it takes.

I know you are desperate for relief and are at the end of your rope with people claiming to be able to help you.

But consider this. Chinese medicine has proven itself to be all about healing the problem and not hiding it. Pills deaden your nerves so you don't know you are in pain. Physical therapy, going to a chiropractor, injections - they all help for the pain. But as soon as you cannot afford to go, the pain will come back.

Nothing Gets Fixed, it Just Gets Hidden

Try it for yourself. If you don't like it. Return it in 2 months for a full refund.

Has your doctor ever offered you a refund?

Are You Ready to Be Pain Free By Next Week?

Are you Ready for Sciatic Nerve Surgery?

Sciatica is tough to deal with. It can be a pain in the butt on it's best day. And on it's worst day, it can leave you frozen in one spot. You have done everything your doctor has told you to do and still, here you are. A slave to your pain. How many more options do you have to try before you find relief? How long will this last.

At some point, you are faced with a possible solution. Even though it is a scary solution. You are told that sciatic nerve surgery will most likely help. Make sure you know your options.

So, now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
Until you find a treatment, your pain will return.

Do you know how to end your sciatica pain?

Discover Instant Sciatic Nerve Relief.

Or Be Pain Free by this time Next Week at http://www.treat-sciatic-nerve-pain.info

Are Lumbar Injections the Best Treatment for Sciatica?

Congratulations, you have sciatica. It is the prize that no one wants to win. It can turn the smallest things like vacuuming, stairs, even getting off the couch into a torture fest. It hurts. And not in the 'ouch' way. It hurts in the 'holy mother, I will consider selling my first born if you can just make it stop' kind of way.

Things like sitting in a chair at work are not as simple as they once were. What kind of support does that chair have? How much cushion does it have? Can I really last 8 hours on this thing? These questions are the 'new norm' for someone with sciatic pain.

Medicine, oh sweet medicine. Your doctor gives you this great little bottle and hopefully it will work. Hopefully it will make everything better, or at least bearable.

But any relief medicine gives you is not enough to forget about the pain. So you talk to your doctor some more and pray that you can find a way for this pain to just end already.

Finally you learn about lumbar injections. The needle is painless, the pain relief can last for months or longer. Eureeka, surely this is the end of your nasty battle with the sciatic beast.

Are lumbar injections really the best treatment for sciatica?

The ultimate decision is really up to you. It is kinda a 'lesser of two evils' battle, which makes it a personal choice. So I will tell you what to expect and you choose what is best for you.

The injection is painless. People always seem to push this. Yes, it is true, the actual needle is painless. But after the needle things take a turn.

The medicine that they put into the needle will quickly shoot down your body and it hurts. Not 'childbirth' pain, but at the very least 'closing your eyes and taking deep breaths' pain. And the pain is different for everyone, because we all feel pain differently.

Then you will be sore. Not necessarily that day, but the following day will be uncomfortable, and so will the next 2-3 days.

But none of this really matters if it stops the pain. So does it stop the pain?

This is your 'light at the end of the tunnel' moment. Yes, it does stop the pain. How long you will be pain free is different for everyone. Some people go months without an injection. Others only find relief for a few short weeks. And some super ultra lucky people will go through all of this and still need surgery.

The choice is yours. But as much of a bear as it can be, the idea of surgery is even worse. How are you supposed to make a decision like this? As hard as the pain is, couldn't surgery be even harder?

On some levels, the pain that you know is easier than the fear of something you don't know. Because as hard as that pain is, as much as you start to loose out on your life, surgery is always scary and always can come with it's own complications.

Has your doctor told you it might be time for surgery? Are you terrified and searching for another answer?

Boy do I have some good news for you. It all lies in the 'Atlas'.

'Atlas, isn't that some book I used to use in school?' - well, yes. But the atlas that is going to save you has nothing to do with world maps or geography.

Using Atlas to Cure Sciatic Pain

Atlas Pain Relief Centre specializes in osteopathy. Recognized by most insurance carriers, osteopathy involves a system of diagnosing and treating medical disorders through manipulation and massage.

Manipulation and massage? That sounds much better than surgery.

The other thing about osteopathy is that it has amazing success rates.

So what's so special about the atlas pain relief centre? They are reliable and their clients are not just happy - they are literally ecstatic.

Not everyone is specialized in osteopathy, so even if you are do not live close to the centre's Tamworth home, you can contact them via email for more information on finding a specialist near you.

It might take a little more effort than doing a random search on the internet, but you want this done right. Isn't your health worth it?

Until you find a treatment, your pain will return.

Do you know how to end your sciatica pain?

Discover Instant Sciatic Nerve Relief.

Or Be Pain Free by this time Next Week at http://www.treat-sciatic-nerve-pain.info

Treatment for Pain Sciatic Busters to Save your Bootie

Do you hate sciatica? Of course you do. It stinks. It hurts. It stops you from doing things that you like to do. To put it simply, "sciatica stinks".

It makes even the most bearable things unbearable. Sure, you might not miss the housework or that long drive to the in-laws. But what about giving your kids piggy back rides or running around the park with them? That is where this pain really steals from you. That is where it really makes an impact on your life.

There is good news and bad news with sciatic pain. If you can hang in there while I break the bad news to you, I promise the good news will be worth it.

The bad news is that sciatica never really goes away. You know how people with cancer go into remission? They are not 'cured of cancer', but they don't necessarily 'have cancer'. In some ways, sciatica is the same way (although to a much lesser extent, I mean as painful as it is, I would take sciatica over cancer any day).

So because sciatica is a tricky beast, you can literally go for years without a flare and BOOM, you have a flare.

Stinks huh?

But here is the good news. If you are willing to spend a few minutes every day with stretching, eating right, and just overall pampering your sciatca nerve, you can life a flare free life, (wow, try saying that five times real fast).

How do you go about living this flare free life? Well I am glad you asked.

Treatment for Pain - Sciatic Nerve Remedies that Work

Starting today, these are the things that you should be doing, every day:

1 - Stretching - use yoga stretches like the cat's pose to really get a deep stretch in your back and bootie muscles. Other stretches help too, but yoga is one of the best. If you start to hurt worse, stop. Being a superhero here might cause more damage.

2 - Walking - not speed walking, more like strolls around the neighborhood or the park. Keeps you healthy and keeps your muscles loose.

3 - Magnesium - a fast acting supplement that keeps the muscles loose. A daily dose can make a world of difference.

Until you find a treatment, your pain will return.

Do you know how to end your sciatica pain?

Discover Instant Sciatic Nerve Relief.

Or Be Pain Free by this time Next Week at http://www.treat-sciatic-nerve-pain.info

Runners - Find Your Sciatica Nerve Treatment Options Here

Running, a great way to clear your mind and relax while getting the physical activity your body craves. Sometimes it seems like you are walking on eggshells, trying to do whatever it takes to keep the sciatica beast at bay. Other times it seems like you have 'awaken the beast' and you are set to deal with the agonizing consequences. Both are things that no one wants to deal with.

The pain can get pretty bad. And when it does, life seems to stop. That lunch date, that trip, even when you are not in actual pain, everything decision you make leaves you silently asking questions. 'how far would I have to walk if I did this?', 'what kind of chairs would I be sitting in?','can my sciatica handle a new mattress while we are on vacation?'. It really is no way to live.

Do you know the Secret of Sciatic Nerve Pain Treatment?

Many experts will gladly tell you that treating your pain is as simple as a pill or therapy. But what seems to get ignored is the fact that maintaining is just as important. There is no 'one treatment' that is going to leave you sciatica free for life. But that does not mean that you cannot be sciatica free.

Huh?

Let me explain, there is no miracle out there that is going to make this problem magically go away. Anything you do is going to require some type of commitment on your part. But if you know what to do to keep your pain under control, simply doing it a few minutes every day will be enough to stop your pain all together.

So what should you be doing?

1 - Back Stretches - sitting on all fours and curling your back up. You want to stretch the muscles in your lower back to keep them nice and loose.

2 - Supplements - the best at curing sciatic woes is Magnesium and Bromelain. Both are equally as important. Magnesium keeps the muscles from swelling while Bromelain quickly takes away inflammation.

3 - Adding Anti-Inflammatory Foods to your Diet - if you are not 'eating for sciatica', you are in danger of sciatic pain.

Are you Ready to Kick the Sciatica Beast?

Do you know how to end your sciatica pain?

Discover Instant Sciatic Nerve Relief.

Or Be Pain Free by this time Next Week at http://www.treat-sciatic-nerve-pain.info

Instant Sciatic Pain Treatment

If you are dealing with sciatica, you know that it hurts. Well, not just hurts, it can tear into your life making everything from sleeping to driving seem almost impossible. You have done your job, you have gone to the doctors, taken your pills, done the stretches, but you are still in pain. It really stinks - it just does not seem fair.

Sure, there are many things out there that promise to help you. Spinal injections, chiropractors, yoga, but all of them have one thing in common. They take time to work. Time that you just don't have. You are in pain Now. You want relief, Now. There is no time to schedule an appointment with a chiropractor and sit in a waiting room. You don't even want to move, much less sit in a waiting room.

Work on the pain, then work on the treatment. There is plenty of time to make plans and discover ways to find banish sciatic nerve pain forever. But all of that needs to be done while you are not in pain.

So how can you work on the pain?

Ta-Da! Here it is, the Sciatic Pain Treatment that works instantly.

It is all thanks to the horseradish root. It has amazing healing powers when applied to the skin. No pain. Easy peasy lemon squeezy (as my kid would say). And it works fast, I mean really fast. Better than any heating pad, ice, or inversion table out there.

So how does it work?

Get a horseradish root from your grocery store (or order it online)

Cut off the section that you are going to use (it should be no bigger than the affected area)

grate the cut section

dip a cloth in vaseline (or oil) and then dip it into the grated horseradish root

Put vaseline (or oil) on the section of skin that hurts as well - **this is very important to prevent burning of the skin**

Put the cloth onto the area that you just covered.

That's it. Lay with the cloth on the area where you are feeling the pain. When the skin starts to get hot, that means that you are done. Remove the cloth and you are good to go. Your pain should be long gone before it is time to take off the cloth.
Also, don't keep the cloth on after the warm sensation starts. This method works so well because it is powerful. The options seem almost impossible to deal with.

Sometimes it seems like relief will never come. And lets be honest, no one wants to live their life this way. So many choices, so much pain. It seems like it will never end.

Is there really a Cure for Sciatica that will work for you?

Sciatic pain is caused for many reasons. But the main issue is inflammation. Either inflammation of the sciatic nerve or inflammation around the sciatic nerve. Either way, it results in that brutal pain.

One of the best ways to combat inflammation is to eat anti-inflammatory foods. There are many options here. Chicken, eggs, apples, green vegetables, they all fight inflammation. And learning the foods that fight inflammation from each food group means that you can literally build an entire meal plan to fight inflammation.

Another way to use foods to fight sciatica is to eat mainly alkaline based foods. Most food that is part of the standard american diet is acidic to your system. This leaves an acid residue. Alkaline foods not only clean this acidic residue, but they also give you tons of energy. The best part? There are many foods that are Both anti-inflammatory and alkaline (cue the tomato and green veggies).

This is just one of many fast ways to relieve sciatica. You can see results in less than a week.

To keep yourself pain free, simply eat more alkaline/anti-inflammatory foods than acidic/inflammatory foods.

Yes, it sounds crazy until you try it. But it really is that simple.

Do you know how to end your sciatica pain?

Discover fast acting Sciatic Nerve Relief.

Or Be Pain Free by this time Next Week at http://www.treat-sciatic-nerve-pain.info.

Fast Sciatica Cures That Will Change Your Life

Dealing with sciatica can be tough. With pain that can be intense and last for days, or longer. Missing out on work or family events. Knowing that life is going on while you are laying in bed unable to move. Saying that it is 'hard' does not even begin to cover it.

But as frustrating as sciatic pain is, it is really not that hard to cure. The trick is to know how to combat it. And while some people might have you think that the only way to do this is through expensive medical treatments, But that is only half true. Yes, these medical treatments help, but no, they are not the only way for relief.

In fact, it can be pretty cheap and easy to cure sciatica, much easier than most people think. And while there are many ways to do this, we will talk about three of the most effective. Use these fast sciatica cures together to finally kick sciatica to the curb.

One of the main reasons that the sciatic nerve starts to hurt is due to inflammation. When the nerve gets inflamed, even when the muscles around the nerve get inflamed, it causes unbearable sciatica pain. There are many foods out there that fight this inflammation. Be sure to make a list of anti-inflammatory foods (such as oatmeal, fish, and olive oil), and balance each meal with more anti-inflammatory foods than inflammatory foods.

Supplements can also be helpful in curing sciatica. There are many supplements to choose from and they each give you a different type of relief. Some of the best supplements come are Bromelain (a powerful anti-inflammatory), Fish Oil (less potent than Bromelain but another powerful anti-inflammatory), and Magnesium (to keep the muscles relaxed).

But even if you eat right and use supplements, they are not always as effective as simple stretching. Taking time to stretch deep into the back every day not only keeps the muscles around your nerves limber, but it also deeply relaxes them. Relaxed muscles don't get aggravated. Muscles that don't get aggravated don't irritate sciatica. Yoga has many stretches that are great for this, and they can be done quickly and easily.

Making these habits part of your everyday is key. Don't wait until you are in pain to look for relief. Of course, these tips can be for relief when you are in pain. But sciatic pain is much easier to manage than it is to find relief from once it hits.

There are of course, other options out there, medication, injections, surgery. But if you take the simple daily steps needed to avoid sciatica flares, you can avoid costly medical options.

Are you Ready for Lasting Relief from Sciatic Nerve Pain?

Find Relief Today using Free Sciatic Nerve Relief Tips.
Or Be Pain Free by this time Next Week at http://www.treat-sciatic-nerve-pain.info

Fast Cures For Sciatica

Dealing with sciatica is far from easy. A life with sciatic pain means the simplest things, like a trip to the grocery store, suddenly become almost unbearable.

Because the sciatic nerve is in the lower back, the pain can go from the back to the buttocks, and even all the way down your leg. Stubborn pain that can linger for hours or even days.

There are two things that you desperately need:
1 - fast relief.from your pain
2 - cures for sciatica that really work.

You can't really have one without the other. If you don't know how to find relief, then you may find yourself likely to choose a medical treatment based on the desire for fast relief, rather than how effective it will be in the long run.

So how do you find fast relief from your pain?

Supplements - Bromelain and Magnesium are two very important supplements for pain. Bromelain is found in pineapples and is a powerful anti-inflammatory, while magnesium keeps the muscles nice and loose. Both are vital to treating your pain.

Exercises to stretch the back - the yoga pose called the 'cat's pose' is very effective for this. It will stretch all the muscles in your lower back and it is very simple to do.

Infrared Heat - if you find that heat helps you to manage your pain, try an infrared heating pad. Infrared heat penetrates deep into the muscle tissue, relaxing muscles much faster than the traditional heating pad.

So now that you know how to find relief, let's talk about some Fast Cures for Sciatica, and how effective they really are.

Chiropractic Treatment - very effective for your pain. Not always covered by insurance, but it does provide almost immediate relief.

Spinal injections - these are meant to block your pain. In order to keep your pain away, this will have to be an ongoing way to manage your pain.

Back Surgery - with a success rate of just over half, this is usually a last resort. Most people though feel relief from pain for months, even years before it returns.

No matter which way you look for relief, it is important to know that persistence is key. If you can make a committment to use supplements and the simple exercises for the lower back in your everyday life, then it is very likely that you will not need any other cures for sciatica.

Do you know how to end your pain?

Discover fast acting Sciatic Nerve Relief Tips.

Or Be Pain Free by this time Next Week at http://www.treat-sciatic-nerve-pain.info.

Fast Relief For Sciatica Pain - Homeopathic Ways to End Sciatic Pain

Dealing with sciatica is no easy feat. Sometimes it stays in your back, sometimes it shoots down your leg, it can even make your buttocks hurt. No matter how you experience sciatica one thing is for sure. It stinks and it is painful.

But one of the most painful things about sciatica is the burning. Burning pain so intense that even getting through a day at work becomes a chore. Medical options can get pricey, add that to the time it actually takes to get into the doctors office and get a treatment plan going and just feels like torture.

When it comes to finding sciatic nerve pain relief, natural is one of the easiest ways to go. If you are feeling like a helpless victim of your sciatica, then this is the remedy for you.

Horseradish Poultice - it is fast acting, and easy to apply, and literally works in minutes.. Do not leave the poultice on as it is very potent and can actually burn if it is left.

How do you make horseradish poultice?

- get a horseradish root from your grocery store (or you can order it online)

- cut off a section of the root that you are going to use

- grate the cut section

- dip a cloth in vaseline (or oil) and then dip the same area into the grated horseradish

- Put vaseline (or oil) on the section of skin that hurts as well

- Put the cloth onto the area of the skin that you just covered..

This is just one of many fast ways to relieve burning sciatica pain.

Discover Secrets to Sciatic Nerve Relief.

Or Be Pain Free by Next Week at http://www.treat-sciatic-nerve-pain.info .

Instant Relief From Sciatic Nerve Pain

Whether you have dealt with it for a week or a year, it is no secret. Sciatica hurts - a lot. It can wreak havoc on the simplest of things, from driving to walking, even sleeping. You have to wonder, with all of this pain, is there any way to find sciatic relief?

Your doctor might be able to supply a good treatment plan. But many times treatment involves medicine. The problem with that is that medicine not only costs money but it also takes time to build up in your system.

A nice visit to the chiropractor is always an option. But when you are actually in pain the thought of getting leaving the house is practically unbearable.

So what is the secret? What are you supposed to do if you are in this kind of pain with no relief in sight?

Instant Relief from Sciatic Nerve Pain - surprisingly easy and amazingly fast.

Placing horseradish poultice on the painful area will give you relief.

So what is it and where do you get it?

Well the horseradish root can usually be found at your local store, but if all else fails, you can buy it online.

Once you have your horseradish:
- peel as much of the root as you think you will use (it smells pretty potent so be careful when peeling)
- grate the peeled section of the root.

Now on to the fun part. How to use it:
- put vaseline on a section of cloth that matches the area of your pain
- dip the vaseline section of the cloth into the shredded horseradish (this will make it stick to the cloth)
- put the cloth on the hurt area.

How will you know when this treatment is done? The poultice will start to feel slightly hot. Nothing painful.

Tips for relief are great.

Are you ready for lasting relief from sciatic nerve pain?

Find Relief today using Sciatic Nerve Relief Tips.

Or Be Pain Free by this time Next Week at http://www.treat-sciatic-nerve-pain.info.

Sciatic Nerve Pain Treatment - The Fastest Exercise For Quick Pain Relief

If you deal with sciatic nerve pain, you know that it can strike at any time, no warning needed. Sometimes it feels like sciatica steals pieces of your life from you. Sure, missing work may not be that traumatic (unless you are losing money because of it). But when you miss dates, going to the amusement park with your kid, trips with family or friends, it is a whole other ball game. Have no fear, sciatic sufferers. We have a secret tip that will get you back on your feet in no time.

Sciatic Nerve Pain Relief on your back: This exercise will not only help to ease your pain, it will also help to tighten those stubborn lower ab muscles. Not only are you attacking your pain, you are getting a nice workout too.

Lie on your back

Bring your knees to your chest as much as you can - (don't be a superhero, it this hurts too bad, stop doing it). Basically what you are doing here is using your arms as stability and lifting your booty off of the floor.

While your knees are in your chest, use your abs to slightly lift that booty off of the ground

If you are feeling brave, you can aim for 4 sets of 10 with 15 seconds rest between sets. This should be your goal. Even if you aren't able to do all 4 sets - don't feel bad, neither was I the first time - if you can pull it off, it should really help to take the edge off for you. The most important thing is not to find a neutral ground between easing the flare without pushing yourself to the point of further upsetting your sciatic nerve pain.

If the booty lift does not give you the relief that you are looking for, you might also find relief in finding another way to get the pressure off of your back. Sciatica is caused when the sciatic nerve, or muscles around the sciatic nerve, is angered. Taking pressure off of that nerve will give you some well needed relief. Even something as simple as laying on your stomach for awhile may be just what you need to get some relief.

It's no secret that I think Sciatica stinks. If you are reading this, chances are you do too. The pain can be a debilitating monster of a beast. More often than not the doctor's advice is painful, pricey, or altogether useless, ('Alternate heat and ice? Sure am glad I wasted my latte money on that stellar piece of advice). You gotta understand...your sciatic nerve therapy is Your responsibility. I know you are in pain, maybe you are in pain all of the time. I know you are probably being handed pills like candy and you feel like this beast is stealing your life. It does not have to be this way.

Most sciatica sufferers do things every day that will lead to a sciatic flare. Obviously not on purpose, but the facts are this, the wrong foods, the wrong exercises, even the wrong sitting position all contribute to a flare.

You can take control of your sciatic nerve pain. You can get your life back without drugs or painful treatments. There are so many sciatica home treatment options available, but how good are they really? One of the most used methods to treat sciatica is using heat to relieve the pain. But how good is heat really?

Sciatica can be caused for many reasons, from weight to an injury. But whatever the cause, the basics remain the same, sciatic nerve pain is painful and it stinks. It makes you wonder, if there are so many reasons people get sciatica, can one treatment really work?

They say that heat works well for sciatic nerve pain relief. And it makes sense, heat is a great relaxer when your muscles are strained, so it should work, right? But what happens when heat makes your pain worse? What does that mean? And how can you fix it?

If you are using heat and your pain gets worse, it is because your muscles are inflamed. Heat and inflammation don't mix. When you add heat to a muscle that is already inflamed, it only makes the pain more intense.

So what do you do? Stop using heat (obviously), but put yourself on a strict icing schedule. 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off for up to 2 hours. If are still in any pain within 48 hours, you should call your doctor.

Finding sciatic nerve pain relief is tough. That is why it is so important to understand what the cause of your sciatica is so you can find real relief.

Are you doing things every day that will cause sciatic pain? You need a Sciatica Home Treatment Plan.

Find Relief today with Free Sciatic Nerve Relief Tips.

Or discover how to Be Pain Free by this time Next Week at http://www.treat-sciatic-nerve-pain.info.

Eliminate Your Pain Today.

**special thanks to KyleMay at Flickr for use of the above photo**

What's up with walled induced sciatica?

So we all know that sciatica is caused by many many things, everything from an accident to weight gain can trigger it. But one of the lesser known ways that people develop sciatica is something that millions of people do every day.

It's common and simple, sticking your wallet in your back pocket. But over the course of time, that can actually put enough 'slight' strain on the sciatic nerve to cause sciatica. This strain can be from your sitting down with a wallet in your pocket, or having a big bulky wallet pushing against your lower back every day. Either way, there is such a thing as wallet induced sciatica. It is not a myth.

I just feel that it is important that we realize the simple things that cause sciatica because they are not always so obvious.

What's the deal with the Pineapples?

If you have sciatica, you are no stranger to the pain that it brings. Many people talk about ways that food and sciatica are realated, but they never seem to talk about the amazing superfood that can help to keep your sciatic pain away.

As you probably guessed by the title, it is pineapples. Pineapples are high in an amazing enzyme called Bromelain, which acts as a fast anti-inflammatory. If you are in every day sciatic pain, they also sell Bromelain supplements. Taking 1-2 of these pills a day should really help you, (although you should always get your doctors opinion before throwing any pill in your mouth).

By the way, I don't have any good pineapple images, but this one looks pretty good huh?

Sciatica During Pregnancy - what can you do?

Today's topic does not pertain to everyone (sorry guys), but it is still pretty important to talk about. Sciatica in pregnancy. If you have sciatica and you become pregnant, odds are you will have pregnant sciatica. But did you know that even if you have never suffered from sciatica before you can still develop it during pregnancy?

If you are pregnant and dealing with sciatica, there are many scary things you may be wondering, but one of your biggest questions is probably:

What can I do to relieve my sciatic nerve pain while I am pregnant?

You actually have many options here. Although I am not going to give you specifics, because each pregnancy is different, I am going to give you some guidance:

1 - Pregnancy Yoga - This is great, but you need to make sure that your program is safe for sciatica. Yoga will give you many benefits that can help you all the way through delivery.

2 - Exercises - there are many sciatic exercises that are safe for pregnancy. You can learn more about pregnancy sciatica exercises and videos on our Sciatica Pregnancy Relief site.

3 - Chiropractor - I feel that I have saved the best for last. Although chiropractors can get expensive, it is a super easy way to find fast relief. Also, the benefits of a chiropractor can also help you during labor, which is great. If you are still in the early stages of sciatica you may feel that you do not need this. But consider how much more strain will be on your sciatic nerve by the time you deliver.

Is Heat making your pain worse?

Heat is a common method to relieve sciatic nerve pain. But it does not work for everyone. Just like people have sciatica for different reasons, people react to sciatica in different ways.

If your muscles are strained, or you have that familliar shooting pain going down your leg, then heat should give you great relief.

But if you try heat and it makes your pain worse, that usually means that the muscles are actually inflamed. You know what happens when you add heat to heat right? You get a bigger fire. Muscle inflammation around the sciatic nerve is different than sciatic nerve inflammation. Muscle inflammation cannot take heat, on the other hand, an inflamed nerve is simply reacting to the stress around it.

So, what should you do?

If you find that heat is only making things worse for you:

* Stop using heat (of course.....)
* Put ice on the area where you are feeling the pain. 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off
* If you are still in pain after 48 hours, then call your doctor. There are 2 reasons for this:

Thanks to Kyle Mays @ Flickr for use of today's pic

How well do you sleep with sciatica?

I know we have touched on this before. Sleeping with sciatica is tough...even bordering impossible. Whether you are tossing and turning all night or if you are just not able to sleep at all. (I should mention here if you are one of the 'super luckies' who have no problems sleeping with sciatica, you will get no benefit from this post.

Anyway, for the rest of us sleeping with sciatica is a job. Worse yet, not getting any sleep makes your whole day a chore to get through.

So here is a nice little nugget that I have shared with my followers on my Sciatic Nerve Sleep Relief site. If you are one of the people who are suffering from endless nights of pain and not sleeping, this is for you.

Hope you enjoy!

--apparently I am inept at uploading videos today. How your bones will become weak and fragile without it. Milk has always been a staple in my home growing up, and even now as an adult I have a spouse who can't exist without it. But....are you ready for this?

Milk sucks for sciatica.

Yep, milk and any other form of high calcium out there. I am not one to knock calcium, I know that it is really important for your body. But calcium is really hard on sciatica. So what are you supposed to do?

Calcium is considered to have inflammatory properties. That means that too much of it will help those muscles around your sciatic nerve to cause you pain. But obviously you need calcium. And obviously you need sciatic nerve pain relief. You need both. Quite the predicament huh?

It's all about balance.

I would suggest for every serving of calcium you feel you are getting, give yourself a serving of an anti-inflammatory food. (you can google 'anti-inflammatory foods' and come up with a much better list than I can do off of the top of my head).

Horseradish Poultice for Sciatic Nerve Pain Relief?

Nifty little trick you should know about. But the option of getting a whole new bed really is not all that feasible either. So what is a sciatica sufferer to do?

Ta-Da - a Buckwheat pillow. Why does it work so well? The pillow feels absolutely amazing. And it provides enough support for the neck that it helps to keep the spine aligned - how cool is that? Probably the best thing about this pillow is the hulls that are inside of it. They are the 'magic stuff', they cradle your neck firmly enough to give you support but softly enough that you can actually get some sleep.

What is the best sciatica home treatment?

Well, even though this is under heavy debate, I have decided I would broach this topic with you. Many people offer many different opinions on sciatica and truthfully, many of their choices may work. The trick is that very few things work for everyone - you know, each of us being individuals and all.

But there is something I keep hearing more and more about that I just felt like I had to share. Although it is a little pricey, so you may want to talk to your doc first.

Inversion Tables! That's right, those freaky things that spin you upside down. Turns out they will take the pressure off of your sciatic nerve, giving you major sciatic nerve pain relief. (I only recently found out this is what an inversion table does, if you have known it for awhile, please don't embarass me).

Anyway, one thing I figured I should mention is that not all inversion tables are made alike, and the best ones seem to be those that allow you some control over your incline. Which seems good because you don't wanna fly off or anything.

Anyway, head on over to Amazon and search for inversion tables so you can check out the ratings and get an idea what you want. Then you can look for that model if you decide to buy.

Have Fun!

Painkiller - are they really all they are cracked up to be?

If you have sciatica, then you are no stranger to painkillers and all the promises that come with them. 'I promise to take care of you and reduce your inflammation', 'I promise to protect you from that nasty sciatic nerve pain, as long as you keep taking me'. Painkillers can be a gift. Anything to end that pain can feel like a miracle without a doubt.

So I am not gonna bash the pain killers, you do what you need to do in that respect.

I am just going to give you a reminder that pain killers will not fix your problem. Anything that you can only rely on while you are taking it is not going to give you any kind of lasting relief. I know that when the drug is working everything is all hunky dory and the last thing you want to do is waste your precious partying time thinking about the pain. But my advice to you would be to try to find a way to lasting relief while you are on the painkillers. Look for ways that you can prevent the pain from coming back while you are out of pain. You can't take painkillers forever. Don't wait until you have a flare to look at other things - we all know that would be no fun.

Not a sermon, just a thought.

Sciatic Nerve Pain is a tricky and nasty beast. Together we can squash it.

Campfire songs, amusement parks, and sciatica

So we went on a mini vacation last weekend. It was uber fun with tons of stuff to do. What was not fun was how horrible nature and the amusement park treated my husband. You are confused you say? Well, let me back up.

Last weekend, we went camping. But the woods we were camping in (complete with cabins), were close to a major amusement park. We took some time out from smores and fishing to go to the amusement park. My poor poor husband was in pain before we even got out of the truck. He is doing really well with his sciatica. But the truth about sciatica is that it loves to remind him that it is there every once in a while. Somehow he braved the huge walk around the park - I am not sure how. But he came out of his amusement park trip having only ridden one ride. Not so fun for him. Not something he would have ever done if he was not in pain. Needless to say by the end of the night, he was carrying around a bottle of advil.

I should be happy. I know of people who are on much stronger drugs, have much stronger pain, and have no good days at all. But as far as we have come on this crazy sciatic journey, it is still hard to watch him in pain - even if it is at few and far between times.

8/04/09 - Let's make today National Ban the Heels Day!

Before I say anything else, let me say 'wow, that pic in the last post was scary'. I mean really, how did I let that monster of a photo get by me? Very bad work on my part.

Anyway, as you know, my whole reason for existing in this jungle you call sciatica is for the benefit of my spouse who has it and suffers through it. Even though my husband does not wear high heels, I have been around this sciatic block and talked to enough sciatic people to know that high heels are a killer.

Now personally, I hate heels anyway. I think they are uncomfortable and an evil right of passage for us chickas. But wearing heels with sciatica, that is just unbearable - or so I have been told.

So I set out to answer the question of what the heck makes heels so very painful for all you sciaticans out there. And here is the answer, "the angle heels makes in your foot causes your pelvis to rotate downwards - even if you do not feel it. This causes pressure on your back and bam - sciatic flare. "(I added the 'bam'. but you get the idea).

So I say lets make today - 8/04/2009 - National Ban the Heels day so all my sciatica gals out there can find some sciatic nerve pain relief. Even if it is just for the day.

The worst floors to walk on when you have Sciatica

And the winner is....

(nervous silence)

........

(fingers crossed)

"Wal-Mart"

Although they are the best retail store around, their floors simply hate sciatica, and sciatica hates them right back. My husband absolutely dreads going into the Wal-Mart, he says the floors really hurt him. Target, grocery stores, even the wholesale warehouse don't seem to aggrevate him as much as those Wal-Mart floors.

So what is it that makes them so different?

At first I thought it must be the concrete floors that they use primarily in the food section. Then I remembered that our wholesale warehouse also has concrete floors, and while they bother him, it is not the 'please please don't make me go in there' pain that he has with the Wal-Mart. Back to the drawing board for me...

Then sometime yesterday I think I finally cracked the code. The Wal-Mart has different types of flooring throughout. There is concrete, wooden, and that white tile type floor (you know, like most stores have). That got me to thinking, I bet it is that the transitions in the floor patterns upsets his sciatica. Just when it gets used to the comfy wooden floors in one section Boom - another patch of concrete.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? Feel free to drop me a line or leave a comment. Also, before you jokesters get the chance to say 'maybe he just hates shopping' I just wanted to let you know that I thought about that theory myself. But Wal-Mart has way too many deals on electronics and video games for him to try to avoid it if he was not in real pain.

Sciatic Nerve Pain - it's a real pain in the butt

My husband was diagnosed with sciatica a couple of years ago. Who would have known that tiny little word would have such an impact on our lives. Suddently we were thrown into a world where we would have to limit long trips, abandon restraunt seats (any seating area that was not 'bootie friendly' for that matter - stadium seats, theater seats, you name it), even watch the type of floor we walked on.

As un-fun as this was for me, it was much worse for my husband.
